                              WELCOME                                                                                            To Mrs. Byrd's Classroom!

This is going to be a great year!  The main goal in my classroom is for each and every student to be successful in his/her own way!  I understand that many students learn in many ways and I want to help your child understand and learn, not just for the moment, but for a lifetime.  I will teach MATH, but I will also teach…CHARACTER, ATTITUDE and PERSEVERANCE!  I truly feel that as our students learn these things, that the ability to learn SUBJECT CONTENT becomes much easier!

    Rules of the Classroom

    WORK HARD...BE NICE...BE ACCOUNTABLE

Number ONENO CELL PHONES or electronic devices are allowed in the classroom, unless it is the Chromebook from the classroom.  All smart watches will be placed in a basket as they come into the classroom.  This is not so I can make their lives miserable, but so I can have their complete and undivided attention!  When they are in the classroom and their devices go off, they lose their train of thought and we will have to restart.

Consequence:  If a student has their phone/electronic device out or I hear the sound go off, it will be taken up, and the device and student will be taken to the office.

Number TWORespect the classroom and everyone in it!  I will not allow students to be disrespectful to me or the other students in the classroom.  This includes: talking when told not to, making fun of others, hateful sarcasm, not doing their work and not turning in their work.

Number THREEASK for help!  I want them to ask for help when they do not understand.  J  This is very important.  I will not answer every question for them, but I will absolutely explain the process to help them figure out the answer and learn how to do it.

Please contact me if you have any questions concerning your child or the content in the classroom!

    Thank You,
